Construction supervision activity related to the establishment of an international research centre.
Project objective:
Project location: Szeged, Science Park. ELI is the first large-scale high-power laser research facility realized with the cooperation support of trans-European and worldwide scientific community. The establishment of the research centre opens new possibilities in physics research fields and it can have a significant impact in several areas of material analysis, medical application and environment protection as well.
The building was constructed in an area specially prepared and adjusted for this purpose. The project also involved the construction of the entirely new public utility and road network. The total net floor area is 24.400 m2, divided between five buildings. Building “A” has the most important research function, containing laser halls suitable for hosting five laser equipment using attosecond sources and experiment areas with clean air technology design where the interaction of light and material can be analysed at higher intensities than ever before.
The project was completed in 2018. 85% of the investment was financed by the scientific development fund of the European Union and 15% from the central budget of the Hungarian State.
Project completed: March 2018
Investment value: HUF 25,000,000,000
ECO-TEC Ltd. was assigned with the construction supervision of project execution as a member of a Consortium formed by 4 engineer offices. In the frame of this assignment, in addition to site inspections of the construction, we participated in the monthly technical and financial reports in compliance with European Union standards and it was also our task to prepare the Final report of the Project together with other consortium members.
