Construction supervision activity related to the refurbishment of the Gyoma – Békéscsaba line section, connecting Trans-European transport corridors.
Project objective:
With the Gyoma – Békéscsaba development realised as part of the Budapest – Lőkösháza railway development, speed limits of even 40-60 km/h in some places could be eliminated in this section. The allowed track speed limit after track modernised is 160 km/h which can be utilised fully after the introduction of the ETCS (European Train Control System) with suitable, modern trains. Travel time was reduced in this section as a result of the modernisation.
The construction investment involved more than 63 km railway track, 82 km overhead line and 15 structures. The project involved platform construction works, the reconstruction and refurbishment of station buildings and the construction of a new station building.
The project included the modernisation works of the Cegléd 120/25 kV traction substation.
