Phase I of the refurbishment of the South Balaton railway line in the Balatonaliga – Balatonszentgyörgy section, construction supervision activities partly related to the construction of the second track in the Lepsény - Balatonaliga – Szántód (Kőröshegy) section.
Project objective:
Railway track, railway structure, overhead line and level crossing construction works on the railway line section and the associated temporary railway interlocking equipment, temporary telecommunication, utility substitution, cable substitution works.
The construction investment involved more than 40 km railway track and 9 km overhead line.
The existing railway track was reconstructed between Lepsény and Szántód-Kőröshegy stations while a new, second track was built between Szabadisóstó - Siófok - Zamárdi-felső. On the critical locations where noise and vibration caused by rail traffic justified it noise barrier walls were built in 4 km length and noise and vibration reducing subgrade was installed in approximately 17 km length. With the modernisation of pedestrian and road crossings, level crossings became safer.
In Siófok, where traffic is intense in summer, traffic jams were mitigated with the construction of the new road underpass in Vitorlás street and the grade-separated crossing further increased traffic safety. The platforms in Balatonaliga, Szabadisóstó, Zamárdi felső stations and in Balatonvilágos, Szabadifürdő, Balatonszéplak alsó and Balatonszéplak felső railway stops were transformed into raised platforms. The reconstruction of platforms increased the comfort of passengers, making boarding and exiting the train more comfortable.

During the project, our Company has been assigned with project management, execution direction tasks and provided the majority of construction supervision in all the specialised fields. Our activities also included cost control and quantity surveying tasks, as well as the certification of the Contractor’s monthly and overall performance.
