Project objective:
In the frame of traffic safety developments, 23 level crossings were upgraded in GYSEV Zrt.’s network. The upgrades improved the detectability of level crossings with additional boom barriers in 8 places and lights providing better visibility in other 15 places. Level crossings were equipped with LED optics.
Another element of the developments was the installation of a so-called “video witness” system which records violations. This was installed in 3 high-traffic crossings.
Further traffic safety developments will enable the inspection of railway vehicles while running. The inspections will be principally aimed at the prevention of derailment accidents but they also measure and detect other parameters affecting the connection between railway vehicles and the track. Diagnostic units were installed in the key points of the network in terms of the inspections.

During the project, our Company has been assigned with project management and ensured cooperation between specialised construction supervisors. Our activities also included cost control and quantity surveying, as well as certification of the Contractor’s monthly and overall performance.
